Longevity and post-harvest quality of cut ornamental sunflower floral

The postharvest quality and longevity of cut flowers is influenced by several factors, with the development stage being one determining aspects. determination harvest point variable must be carried out depending on physiology flower proximity consumer market. In this sense, objective was to determine harvesting ideal stem length for ‘Sol Vermelho’ ornamental sunflower. experimental design adopted completely randomized, arranged in a 2 × 4 factorial scheme (harvest length), where stems harvested at stages R4 R5.5 four lengths 50, 60, 70, 80 cm were used. results demonstrate that early (R4 stage) sunflower viable alternative allows greater post-harvest durability and, consequently, commercialization longer period time. addition, (open flowers) 50 60 can recommended sale regions close production sites.
